Exhibition
During the seminar on the 30.10.2009 we will hold the opening of an exhibition Generate - From algorithm to structure. The exhibition is open at the University of Oulu Department of Architecture between 30.10.-20.11.2009. The exhibition consists of bridge and pavilion designs produced as part of the Algorithmic Architecture Workshop held in 2008. In addition there are individual student projects, competition entries and designs for Diploma Thesis. The works are exhibited using 3D prints, 1:1 scale models of structural details and animations as well as traditional plans, sections and 3D images. In addition the exhibition structures have been designed using algorithmic design methods.
Touring exhibition: Generate – From algorithm to structure has been designed as a touring exhibition and it can be delivered for public display at the cost of transportation and exhibition assembly. If you are interested, please contact: info(at)generate.fi.
Publication
During the seminar a book Generate – From algorithm to structure will also be published. The book contains descriptions of all the projects on display at the exhibition. The book includes a dvd which contains the scripts of the different designs as well as animations demonstrating the design
processes. The scripts include commentary which gives the reader a clear idea of the structure of the script and how they function. The book is written in Finnish and English. The scripts and their commentary is in English.
